Fine Art Photography & Mixed Media

Molly was born and raised in the greater area surrounding Sacramento, California and received her BA in Photography at California State University, Sacramento. She is a mixed media artist with an emphasis in photography. Her work focuses mainly on the documentation of her own life and experiences through conceptual self-portraiture. Her primary mediums of expression are in 35mm, 120mm, and 4x5 film. Her work has an ongoing theme related to self examination, the imposing and inevitable implication of death, and the pathologies fueled by impulsive and unpredictable states of mind. Her work is greatly influenced by tableau vivant styles and performance art. In her work she creates depthful compositions with the inclusion of physical performance in front of the camera, oftentimes posing in her photographs for long exposures with durations over several minutes at a time.
