Phases & Conditions, 2020

This body of work is a reassemblage of reality through the physical distortion of the body to represent death and the embodiment of an unsettled mind. The networking between the heart and mind are not always fluid as the intersection of sound judgment becomes gridlocked by thoughts of both past and present shortcomings, coupled by regret, doubt, and self loathing. As the threads find chaotic harmony within the tumultuous scene of merged mediums, the unpredictable emotions of my mind eventually settle in the commonality of their origin. The accompanying elements of text are topics which revolve around outer space, piety, lifesaving techniques, Gothic architecture, and photography tips. Words become muffled in alliance with the murky tones of the large format images, leaving the viewer to find resonance in their own choice of language to guide individual perception.
